Amanda V

lead vocals

Paul Rodgers is one of the most soulful singers in rock history, and Amanda V brings the same gutsy, soulful sound that no other vocalist, male or female, can deliver. With her vocal power, range, and dynamics, Amanda gives BadCO the opportunity to bring its fans two great eras of Bad Company---Paul Rodgers and Brian Howe!

Amanda began singing in the choir at the age of 5, and has been singing professionally since the age of 14. With a B.S. in Music - Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado, Denver, and having a background in rock, pop, jazz, rhythm and blues, Amanda has sung in numerous musicals, musical projects, original projects, cover and tribute bands throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond.

Widely recognized as one of Colorado's preeminent vocalists, you can hear Amanda with some of her other projects including Amand V's Material Girl---A Tribute to Madonna; Princess and the Evolution and the Sounds of Minneapolis; Linger, the Cranberries Tribute; and She-Bop. And if you're really lucky, you may even catch this USAF Master Sergeant cranking out the National Anthem at a local event!

Donny Dark

Lead guitar

Originally from Santiago, Chile, and one of the founding members of BadCO, Donny Dark was inspired by the music of Elvis, Chubby Checker, and the Beatles growing up.  Donny began performing in nightclubs at the age of 15, doing cover material, later moving on to originals as well as session work. Early in his career, Donny played in an original project with the sons of two infamous members of Cream, culminating in two CD releases in the early 2000's. Donny, Malcolm Bruce and Kofi Baker, formed the rhythm section of Atlas Hunter.

Opening for The Bus Boys, LA Guns, and jamming with Michael Dawe, former drummer for the likes of Robert Palmer, Steely Dan & Roxy Music only whetted Donny's dream of working with the finest "A - List" musical projects. Having spent decades delighting audiences along the Front Range, the Pacific Northwest and the Southwestern United States, Donny brings a seasoned, authentic approach to the music of Bad Company, Free, and the Firm. Mick Ralphs, Bad Company's lead guitarist, was a pivotal influence since Donny's high school days.

In addition to Donny's outstanding work with BadCO, Donny can be seen with some of his other Front Range projects including Shelvis and the Roustabouts, The Big Spenders, Crystal Visions - Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, and Potsheen.

doug salmon

bass guitar, vocals

After being enthralled with the theme from the Pink Panther while growing up in Salt Lake City, UT, Doug was determined to learn the Tenor Saxophone. However, being too small for the instrument at the time, he started with the clarinet in the fourth grade, finally getting to the tenor sax in the sixth. By the time he got to high school, Doug had added the flute to his stand, and was in the performance jazz band every year. The band won the state jazz championship his senior year, and he received the outstanding soloist award! Doug majored in performance at the University of Utah, having traveled with the jazz band to the Montreux [Switzerland] Jazz Festival.

Wanting to expand his musical dimensions, Doug began playing the electric bass in high school, and was greatly influenced by Geddy Lee of Rush and Gene Simmons of Kiss.

Having played in numerous rock bands in high school and college, Doug continued on with a variety of bands, sometimes on sax, Sometimes on bass, or both.

Having moved to Ft. Collins, CO, he played with Second Hand Smokers, The Dave Dardine Project, Black Water, The Absolutes, and Cowboys Dead.

As the other founding member of BadCO, Doug has had a lot of fun capturing the essence of a band he loved early on, and a bass player he always admired, Boz Burrell.

reed klemmer

keys, guitar, vocals

Reed is BadCO's multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist from Greeley,Colorado. Reed joined and has been playing with Bad Colorado - Colorado's Tribute To Bad Company since the summer of 2023 and is a very welcomed addition.

Another music-performance graduate, Reed studied clarinet at Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he had the opportunity to play with many great musicians and ensembles, including the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra, University Jazz Ensembles, and the tejano band, Latin Thunder. Reed was able to study a variety of instruments and genres including jazz, funk, classical, and tejano.

Today, Reed continues to make music across the Denver area and the Front Range, not only playing keyboards and guitar with Bad Colorado, but also as the bass guitarist with Joni and the Chachis, "Northern Colorado's Rock Tribute."

Reed's talents just don't begin and end on the stage. FunkyBoy Records is Reed's recording label, and as an independent label, Reed focuses on the feel good grooves of funk, soul, and R&B---everything needed to bring the BadCO sound to life!

CJ Perri

Percussion, vocals, guitar

When not traveling the globe between Mexico and Spain, and across the US from Florida to Alaska, you will find CJ on the stage with BadCO, singing, playing percussion and guitar.

CJ has had a love of music since he was a child. He began singing in the choir in first grade, and by the time he was seven years old, he had a record collection of over 100 albums, with his earliest influences being Kiss, Neil Diamond, and Elton John---quite the eclectic mix! His favorite guitarist and inspiration for playing the guitar growing up was Randy Rhoads.

Being on stage and performing comes second nature to CJ---You might even say it's "in his blood." His Mom, Linda, was a movie actress appearing in Edward Scissorhands, Casino, and Cape Fear, to name a few. CJ's Mom's Broadway experience helped him gain a healthy respect for theatre and performance, and he even did some acting himself while in school and played Ebeneezer Scrooge for his second grade Christmas play!

CJ got his first guitar at 15 years old---an Ibanez 1985 PR1550, Solid Body Electric, and trained in school and privately in several methods of playing, even playing some bass guitar. While living and playing in South Florida, CJ picked up the Congas which set him on a path to play more percussion.

CJ has gigged in South Florida and Colorado, playing in several tribute bands featuring his vocals on the music of 3 Doors Down, as well as Bad Company, Alice Cooper, and The Church. His love of music continues to this day and BadCO is the newest family of musicians that he is proud to be a part of! Forever the jokester, BadCO is lucky to have CJ's musical talents and his on-stage personality as part of the band!

You can also see and hear CJ with "Sweet Child," a tribute to Guns N Roses.

don kalil

drums and percussion

Let's just say Don's been around the block once or twice having played in numerous bands, and with many national and international acts and artists. Over the years, he has been influenced by many, many different drummers, past and present. Trained as a classical percussionist, he always dreamt and thought he would play in a symphony orchestra somewhere. Sidetracked by a stint in the US Air Force, he became a member of the Air Force Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corp before being shipped off to Germany and England.

Upon returning home to St. Louis from the Air Force, Don focused on playing the drum set and began working out of Local 2-197, AF of M, as an independent drummer. Rarely playing with the same band or orchestra twice or even the same band members, Don played everything from plays at local theaters, black-tie events at the many local, St. Louis country clubs, in pit orchestras, big bands, jazz trios, flame-throwing Hawaiian acts, country-western bands, Dixieland bands down on the Riverfront, strip clubs on the East Side---You name it and he played it---anything and everything.

Moving to Colorado and taking a 25-year hiatus to raise a family, Don returned to playing in 2015 and has played in many local bands ever since. In addition to bringing the classic rock beats of Bad Company's Simon Kirke to the BadCO party, you can catch Don with Still the Same - Bob Seger Tribute, and most recently, Crystal Visions, a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac.
